ICSN at UNTAN

Sanggau

The Regency (Kabubaten) of Sanggau has avoided the escalation of its conflicts into large scale violence. Yet the regency is home to a wide range of small scale conflicts with a more complex setting than in many other regencies in West Kalimntan. Conflicts in Sanggau are not only communal, but also related to natural resources, competition to political offices etc. The UNTAN Graduate Studies Program in Social Sciences has participated in these efforts by inviting community leaders from the main communities to classes on conflict resolution within its program of public administration. This activity has been supported by the ICSN. The graduate studies program in public administration has graduate programs in Sociology and Public Administration in Sanggau.
