and Southeast Asian Studies. The department has a Research School
in Indonesian, Japanese and Chinese.
Research
Modern Japanese litterature; Chinese history: Authenticity problems
in older Chinese texts, Human Rights in China, South-Chinese local
history, older Chinese cultural history; Chinese litterature; The
historical novel in China, the case of censorship during Ming and
Qing dynasties, Chinese childrens' litterature; Chinese religion:
Daoism in South China;
Lexicology/lexicography: Chinese-Swedish lexicon and database;
Minority Studies: Akha - grammar and ritual-texts; Southeast Asian
history: Southeast Asian judicial texts, Chinese language.
Furthermore, traditional and computer-based tuition material is
produced.
